About
This blog is for and about the Spanish Springs Library Mystery Book Club. Its goal is to report on the monthly gatherings of the club, let the public know about what we’ll be reading next and open a dialogue among readers about the mystery genre and its many sub-genres and authors.
Please feel free to comment about what you would and would not like to see on the blog, what books you want to be reading and any thoughts you may have about, well, ANYTHING book related. We welcome your feedback.
Mysteriously Yours,
Pam and Joan

Hi Debbie!
Between six and eight people usually show up. It’s a fun group and we have some lively discussions. Join us sometime!

How much of the book should I have read before the meeting this month? Or should I have read the whole book. I am new at the book club thing! Deb Sparks

Most people read the whole book, but if you don’t finish or even if you don’t start, we don’t care. It’s not like it’s homework and you’re going to get graded!
Discussions are more lively if you’ve read the book and if you haven’t finished it, you may learn whodunit before you wanted to. But do come to the meeting, even if you haven’t finished it.

Let’s try this again! I was pulling up the library club for Spanish Springs and the on ly one I can find is the Senior one that meets on Tuesdays. Is this a different group than this one? If so would you tell me what book you are reading? Thanks Deb

I’m sorry that you’re having difficulties. I don’t know much about the book clubs at the other branches, but as I understand it, we’re each reading different things, so not all the mystery book clubs are reading the same book. At Spanish Springs, on the Pyramid Highway, we have the literary book club and the mystery book club. The Mystery Book Club meets on the third Sunday of each month. The literary book club meets on the second Tuesday of the each month. Here’s a link to Sharon’s blog for more information — http://spanishspringsbookgroup.blogspot.com.
Our next book is “Tilt-A-Whirl” by Greg Grabenstein. Last I checked, there weren’t any available, but I’m whizzing through my copy and will return it shortly, if you want to read it. We’re meeting on August 21st.
Good luck and I hope to meet you at our next meeting.
