REVIEW #3 – Jane and the Wandering Eye
I had to re-read the ending of Jane and the Wandering Eye three times before I finally had it clear in my head just who was the murderer and why there was murder and which Marie was which. There is a lot going on in this book. You’ve got the theater, you’ve got music, you’ve got art, you’ve got love lost, love out of reach and Bath society all wrapped up in the holiday season. It’s exhausting!
But wonderful. This is immersion in Jane’s society at a very interesting time in her life. She hates Bath, but has to be there. Cassandra gets all prissy on her, her mother preaches to her, she loses a dear friend and Lord Harold his paying the most interesting attentions to her. What’s a girl to do?
Why, enjoy herself to the fullest. I like how Jane goes out in society so much in this book. It’s a society that she may not necessarily enjoy being out in, but as a reader, I found it fascinating.
